SEATTLE - Feb. 5, 2008 - Giant Campus, the nationally recognized leader in 21st century skill development, today announced that its community-based technology programs offered at MacDill Air Force Base (AFB) received "exceptional" ratings for all five areas it was evaluated on in a recent U.S. Department of Defense "Contractor Performance Assessment Report."

More than 10,000 people - including military families, Retirees, active-duty Soldiers, reservists and DoD civilians - have enhanced their technology skills thanks to the Giant Campus programs offered at MacDill.

As a contractor for the U.S. Department of Defense, Giant Campus was evaluated on five criteria for its MacDill programs: quality of product or service, schedule, cost control, business relations and management of key personnel. "It is rare a contractor receives an exceptional rating in these reports," noted Pete Findley, CEO of Giant Campus. "We're very pleased by the quality of service our staff provide on the Base, but even more so of the positive impact this program makes in the lives of military families."

"As stated before, the staff provides a schedule of training opportunities that enable personnel to plan well in advance to attend the training sessions," the report states. "They are very flexible in working with the hectic and changing schedule of our military community."

Along with a variety of online and on-site tech courses, Giant Campus offers its CyberSenior workshops for senior citizens and Cybercamps programs for youth at MacDill. In addition, Giant Campus is developing a Web site for the Base's Family Resource Center in Brandon, Fla. as a resource for military families living in that area.

"Scott Budaj, Giant Campus' contract manager for MacDill AFB, and his team of professional trainers often come across groups of users that we know we can provide continued service to," said retired Navy Chief Warrant Officer 3 Bob Haunton, southern regional director of military programs for Giant Campus. "Our Giant Campus MacDill team then develops programs - such as CyberSeniors or the Web site for the Family Resource Center - to meet those needs. Those types of projects take us above and beyond what a normal contractor would do."
