Course Description
Geocaching is the latest high-tech experience: using GPS receivers, participants compete in real-world treasure hunts to locate objects and uncover hidden clues. In partnership with Geoteaming, Giant Campus has created a program that takes geocaching to a new level, combining five exciting days of geocaching games with team building and leadership experience in the heart of our nation’s capitol. Based at Howard University, participants will work in teams of 6-8 (accompanied by their adult supervisor). Armed with GPS receivers, pocket PCs, digital cameras and 2-way radios, they'll explore Washington D.C. in ways no school trip could ever rival:
- Compete in daily geocaching challenges that will take your team all over this exciting city
- Use GPS technology to uncover hidden clues at landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
- Strategize with your peers, practice team work and develop leadership skills
- Learn about technology while making new friends – all in real situations with real people in our nation’s capitol.
Project Geocaching is an incredible opportunity for teens to learn about the city, make new friends, and experience geocaching technology hands-on. Join us!
To fully develop your skills in this area, we recommend you take Project Geocaching as part of a multi-week sequence.
